Media outlets are reporting that six security men were killed in a suspected suicide attack near a security force checkpoint in the Pakistani capital Islamabad. GEO reported the blast occurred near a check post of Frontier Corps (FC) in Sector F-7/3 Margala Road, Islamabad today. The news agency added, “SSP Tahir Alam said security men were taking dinner when the attacker entered the check post and blew himself up…He denied any exchange of fire, saying the security men fired in the air to scare away any other attackers.” The police has since cordoned off the area.

UPDATE [1319 ESt]: GEO News reported eight security men have been killed. One suspect has also been arrested from the blast site, according to police officials. Dawn reported, “Eleven FC personnel have gone missing after the attack, police said, adding that terrorists may also be hiding in the adjoining areas.”
