So I’m happy and humbled to report that Tea Break, a network/community for Pakistani blogs, has named me their Blogger of the Month. Thanks for the support and the honor, I really really appreciate it! Here is a link to my interview with them.
CHUP: Teabreak’s Blogger of the Month!
February 24, 2009 by Kalsoom
Great job! I will buy you a Burger King crown and hand-write “Blogger King” over the “Burger King” and parade you around DC.
You and your blog are awesome!
Congratulations! It’s about time you gained recognition for your amazing work.
Like many others I read CHUP faithfully to keep updated on different views on events in Pakistan. You have created a great forum for fellow Pakistanis to voice their opinions. To many more Blogger of the month honors and soaring readership!
Great job Kalsoom, and all the best!
Aw thanks guys :). It honestly wouldn’t be possible without my friends, family, and supporters on this forum. Reimas, I dig the burger king crown idea – very tacky, totally my style! haha!
Wow, congrats to the editor (and all the contributors) who made it possible.. CHUP definitely deserves the award!
Well done Kalsoom!
I have to say, I’ve seen few bloggers put in such a concentrated effort into their blogs over such a long period of time. Most individuals lose interest after a month at max. You deserve it!
I second everyone’s comments above – congrats Kalsoom on all your hard work – this award is certainly well deserved!
Congratulations Kalsoom and CHUP!!
congratulations kalsoom!now with your newfound stardom i may quit realclearworld and contribute to your blog exclusively..does that make me a whore?ahahahahahha…congratulations again!this blog is definitely top notch, keep it up!
you are a blogging genius!!! (robot voice)
Congratulations kalsoom! keep up the awesome work.
I am disappointed! They should have given you blog of the year at the least! I was actually pushing for greatest blog ever created but congrats nonetheless!!!
Congrats! A much deserved honor! I thoroughly enjoy reading all the posts on this blog–they are concise, well thought out and extremely well written. Keep up the great work, Kalsoom!
Congratulations! Have you started planning the 100,000 hits party?
Thanks everyone for your kind words of encouragement ๐
Congratulations Kalsoom! So happy for you.
Congrats Kals and CHUP. You should consider making some money off this by having ad revenue…lol.

congrats kalsoom… you are doing a fantastic job
Thanks! Rabia, I don’t know if you checked out the interview, but I mentioned your blog!
good going Kalsoom,
you are doing a wonderful job.
oh and thanks a lot for mention ๐
Great Job Kalsoom. A recognition well deserved!
To think that you have the Passion to do this every day (I think its almost a year) so that us Pakis & others are kept informed as to what is going on back home, I Salute you for this wonderful effort. Please keep it up & may be all of us who comment on your blog can think of a unique way of celebrating your 100,000 hits very soon, InshAllah.
Any ideas out there? Maybe, you could print CHUP T shirts with 100,000 Hits on the back with the a Demographic Map showing your readership around the world. Front could be …I am a CHUP BLOGGER. I would love to have one & even pay for it.
Good Luck & God Bless.
Well done! We are all very proud of you! Keep up the good work and keep the flag high!
Way to go man…good job!
Looking forward to be a part of many more meaningful discussions on our blog ๐
Keep going!!!!
Congrats!! You really deserve it! ๐
Congratulations, Kalsoom! That was a wonderful interview- it really inspired me and reminded me to look for the good and positive in any situation, anywhere, anytime. The uplifting stories (like the Pakistani student who set a Guinness World Record), are just as important as the ones about politics, drones, or nuclear weapons (if not more so). The personal stories provide an insight into a culture very foreign to this American, but I’m extremely grateful to have read it. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Happy 2 B Paki-
That would be a fun idea haha! Maybe the t-shirts could help raise money for the IDPs in Pakistan right now?
Tazeen,
Of course, your blog rocks!
Kalsoom,
I did see that… thank you so much!
Good Work and Congrats. Hard Work Pays. And the best thing that I liked about your blog is that you have not got on to the badwagon of populists. You did not follwo the path which was easy and created your own by being imparital and balanced. A tightrope walk given your nation. Full Marks to you and your sincereity.
